"The album showcases [Drakes]'s organic style, which is heavy on laid back grooves, breezy harmonies, catchy melodies and made-for-clapping-along tunes"

James Drakes is a singer, songwriter, musician, producer, environmentalist and entrepreneur. He has always been driven by his love of nature and music. Originally born in Tennessee, he currently resides in Pittsburgh, PA. His writings are made up of a signature laid back, meaningful style.

In 2015 he wrote, recorded, produced and released his debut EP "Quarter," after recovering from vocal node surgery. The release sparked his journey into the creative realm. Shortly after the release he formed a band, "James Drakes and the Chris Taylor Trio." The group has played shows up and down the east coast over the past few years. The band's full length album "Follow These Rivers" was released in 2017 and featured 11 songs written by Drakes.

In May 2019, the band rebranded as "monallo".  He is currently working on new material and looks to release new songs, as well as continue to tour the eastern United States in 2019.

In 2018, he co-founded the Follow These Rivers Music Festival with bandmate and friend Jonathan Fisher. The festival features over 20 acts, live painting, art, vendors and environmental activists and seeks to raise money for environmental non-profit groups.

Drakes teamed up with the non-profit the "Plastic Ocean Project" in 2017. They have collaborated to create an informative video featuring Drakes's song "Home." They also worked together during the Follow These Rivers Music Festival. Percentages of funds earned from Drakes's performances and album sales are donated to POP. In 2018, Drakes became a Global Ambassador for the group.
